about 1997 i heard, what i thought then, was a great track. i never heard it since but i've been looking to explore their stuff a little and maybe even find that track. anyone familiar with their work? any good tracks i should listen to? i know the contributors have been varied so i guess their will be too?

System 7's primarily Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy, but they've brought in many collaborators over the years. Hillage himself has been making music since the '70s, either solo ambient-prog-guitar stuff or with the group Gong. As they're rather hippie-ish, their music usually leans towards the psy side of things, but more in a Planet Dog vein than anything you'd associate with goa and the like.
Their Point 3 albums are thought of as their best, but I wouldn't know, as the only full-length I've heard from them is their self-titled debut, which has more of a UK acid house vibe going for it.

They actually live very close to me in a little Yorkshire village called Hebden Bridge, and they play a lot of small gigs there.

One of my alltime favourite EDM duos. They are unique in a sence that they have been in the music industry since the 1960s! Quite cool to see The fact that Steve Hillage have his roots in 1960s/70's hippy prog rock is what have made their sound so special.
They have released alot since 1990 when they released, Sunburst, their first System 7 single.
I recommend the whole Power of Seven album. It contains some of their best tracks such as Hangar 84, Europa and Mektoub.
Another strong album by them is Seventh Wave which contains the belter track High Plains Drifter.
Also their 1997 track Rite of Spring is probably one of the most positive uplifting tracks. Lovely vibe in that!
