appearently Scott Hardkiss passed away yesterday, it's not completely confirmed and the cause of death hasn't been reported either.

edit: his passing has been confirmed and the cause was an anyuerism. appearently his health hasn't been the best the last couple of years and had been heavily hospitalised.

i heard about it through twitter when bill brewster mentioned that hardkiss passed away. then went and searched and found this article. http://newsflash.bigshotmag.com/features/23958/

r.i.p. to a proper legend. he's responsible for so many classic tunes such as "raincry", "the pheonix", the remix of "white dove", the remix of "infinitely gentle blows". absolute classics.

i also like some the singles from his 2009 album "technicolor dreamer". "you and i" and "come on, come on" was nice even though joe claussell's sacred rhythm suite remix of the latter is infinitely time better than the original

Yeah, big shame. Hardkiss Records epitomised that feel-good early '90s San Fran sound.

RIP indeed.

Great producer, and damn young to go...

wow! RIP indeed, about one year after Slacker passing away too. Gonna play some of his records today to honor another legend. So sad.

Gutted. I first heard him in 1995 when Delusions of Grandeur came out. RIP

RIP indeed. Damn, 45 years old is way to early to go.

definitely a great producer. hadn't heard much from him lately, but some absolutely beautiful records back in the day. RIP Scott and condolences to Gavin and Robbie if they are out there...
