directed by william friedkin, this neo-noir film about money counterfeiting is awesome. dark and gritty and has an AWESOME GTA vice city-like soundtrack.
it stars GRISSOM as a serious actor who gives a brilliant performance, has a legendary car chase scene and has some great violence... i was taken aback by the authenticity of some of the hits landed.
i urge you to either watch or re-watch this bonafide classic.

Oh cool, Merc Lepidus is in it :)
Will add to Netflix cue or list or what it's called. Definitely not gonna torrent it.

I caught a NYTimes hosted screening of The French Connection where Friedken took questions afterward. He was there, ostensibly, to promote his new film - Killer Joe (which was rather mediocre, by the way). Friedken seemed like a really awesome guy, answering questions by bridging the gap between them and some marginally-related anecdote. He wasn't nearly as wooden as some of the other 'stars' I've seen take questions in a similar format. I thought I'd like to have a beer with him.

and the best end credits EVER. don't watch right to the end if you intend on watch it... and do, if you do watch it. awesome easter egg type directoral thing. wouldn't make sense without seeing the film first. but enjoy the music!!

The descending sine lead is made by a bode frequency shifter. Awesome audio in this movie!
