| So a someone mentioned to me that Exchange night club finally received their after hour permits and starting on April 6th, will close at 6AM. Don't know much news but figured some of you may be interested. |

| 6AM? why even bother? still can't serve alcohol between 2AM-6AM. |

I have become privy to some hush hush news....it seems that many people that attend these events at avalon and exchange etc, are on illegal drugs! They can sneak them in and take them at their convenience. |

Can play longer sets from DJs without starting early. It also gives time to sober up to drivable levels.
I also hear LA is close to passing a 4am drinking law, which is in the final stages and has a lot of support. http://la.eater.com/archives/2013/03/14/new_bill_would_enable_la_bars_to_booze_until_4_am.php |

The 2am drinking curfew is done at a state level and it's enforced by ABC. If this law passes, it will affect all of California, not just LA. |

This proposal has come out a couple times before and easily got the various votes it needs...until the final one by the state board, where it was swiftly struck down (it might get one vote in favor for). I wonder if this time it's state-wide, because I do believe past ones called for a "test" area which tended to be SF (hence all this support from SF Bay area groups) |

This new law would only allow local governments to make their choice on the matter if they so choose.
In other words, if it passes, then the city of Los Angeles could decide to keep the 2am time or extend it to 4am. So if it passed at the state level, it would be up to LA to then pass its own bill extending the hours. |
