Our main support staff at work is predominantly indian. They do their jobs decently except last weekend when they let a sev1 incident fester in our systems in the middle of the night when I was supposed to be on call... the people in Brussels called me ing 9 times and I didn't answer because I was sleeping and couldn't hear my phone. The business was going live with some which the support staff is supposed to monitor but they are slow as and our systems were ed up and they didn't do anything about it and now it's all my fault. Dicks.
(Edit: Technically I was supposed to be on call for support if the actual software I deployed fails, but the Indians are our first line of defense and they didn't notice some severely ed up for several hours on the systems they're supposed to monitor 24/7 so I say it's their fault) |
