looking at that pdf with those names on it and the city listed on that ticket is just surreal. literally was a spur of the moment decision -- i had no idea I was going to do this when i woke up.

I felt the same when I bought my tickets to awakenings last year. I couldn't believe I was actually going. We couldnt have asked for a better experience at the festival. Great vibes, great people, great music, great festival. Drinks were cheaper than I expected and people were all extremely friendly. We split time between Carl Cox and Adam Beyer's closing sets which made my night.

I want to go back for a couple different events in Europe but I don''t think I will ever be able to pull it off again. I was already in Europe last summer and managed to rearrange some stuff to be able to make it to Amsterdam that weekend.

Besides Awakenings, are there any other "can't miss" venues/clubs during ADE?

Looking back at last year, Studio 80 seemed to have dope parties every single night -- that place good? I'll probably want to do two Awakenings nights (I get there on Wednesday and leave Monday) and I'm really torn between the first night (Cadenza/Planet E) and the Carl Cox one on Thursday. If you get there on Thursday Pat, I'm down to do whatever though. I hear this is the WMC of Europe so I'm sure there's a lot of good stuff going on.

And how's the food there? Nothing like good street food at 5 am after a night of techno, lol.

It's crazy, everyone that has gone there has said the same thing. You don't get the same reviews out of people after WMC. WMC is awesome, don't get me wrong, but there's a lot of idiots, douchebags, club politics/bull, insane prices that make the experience less than perfect. ADE/Awakenings on the other hand, people always speak glowingly about.

I'm really torn between ADE and BPM Fest. I can do one or the other, but not both. It's been a back and forth decision for about three months now.

ADE is obviously more expensive and less enticing without the amazing beaches and weather, but the events are probably some of the best all year long. BPM Fest is cheaper, has small but great events, and amazing weather and beaches. But it's Mexico, everyone gets sick when they come home, and there is just an over abundance of trashy people in the area. I'm really torn between the two.

C'mon, that's a nobrainer. You're talking the best production in the world in THE premier party city in the world. Bpm does look like a blast bur the experiences are two different levels. Come to ADE. Stay with me n pat n hopefully Dave (diabloargentino)

Plus..beaches?? We got those all around us. And think of the drugs! :toothless lol

so yeah, Studio 80 and TIME WARP just announced a block of 5 consecutive WAREHOUSE parties during ADE. Among the parties will be SCI TEC, Loco Dice, Ricardo Villalobos, CLR, and Laurent Garnier. The first four are directly competing with the Awakenings parties. Same hours and everything. Complete lineups to come later I guess. The Loco Dice party is gonna be hard to pass up...CLR you made the mistake of competing with Drumcode. DC all the in way for me.

Uhm, what's WMC? BPM? Huh? :toothless

Look at the Friday shows, jeezus...

Dave Clarke Presents @ Melkweg
Dave Clarke / Karenn / Agoria / Kenny Larkin / Boddika / Jeff Rushin & Nicole Rosie

Ellum / Life & Death Showcase @ Muziekgebouw
Maceo Plex / Tale of Us / Clockwork / DJ Tennis / Danny Daze / don't feel like listing the rest

beautiful venue too:

Mobilee Showcase @ Dhoem Dhaam Warehouse
Pan-Pot / Anja Schneider / Sebo K / Rodriguez Jr / Ray Okapara

Timewarp Ricardo Villalobos & Friends @ Elementenstraat
this dude is a douche though, won't support him though I know a lot of people will be at this show. Saw him at mainstage DEMF in 2011 and he purposely played a ty boring set to a crowd getting soaked from the rain. Doesn't like America, go yourself Ricardo.

Awakenings - Richie Hawtin presents ENTER.M.NUS
Hawtin / Osuna / Matador / Hobo / Joran Van Pol / Gaiser
Rissinite
That Ellum lineup is nutso. Did that party in Miami at the Pickle for WMC and nothing touched it. Not Drumcode, not CLR, not Get Lost, not Sasha...nada. Do not miss that!
