If you listen closely, both songs resemble each other A LOT.
except the only difference is "Where Are You Now (Moonman Remix)" has a psy-like bassline.
the melodies both sound pretty similar.. of course not entirely the same, but it almost sounds like Avicii's track was inspired off of Ferry Corsten's remix
rubez
no. avicii only became aware of ferry corsten once he remixed justin beiber.

I'm graduating this year from the very same high school as Avicii did; very often I come across dudes that remind me of him. And no, those two songs don't sound like each other at all.
Floorfiller
no i don't hear it either.
you know what popular song i hear these days that reminds me of an electronic song? Capital Cities. I can never tell if they sampled this, but they are very similar, especially the breakdown part. similar synths, similar percussion. you guys tell me.
probably not, but first time i heard this song i was like....hey that's blendbrank lol...
Juan Paulino
Those 2 songs you mentioned sound nowhere near identical.

Avicii makes such cheap tunes. Hell i wouldn't even call them tunes. Hopefully his real taste doesn't even come near anything he produces.
And no those tunes doesn't even sound remotely similar.
Dj Pluviose
not even the synth sounds have any similarity?
Vernon Wanderer
Hell no, nowhere near.

I hate hearing levels anytime, but I have to admit it's a well made track. Does exactly what it's meant to well, no bullting. Simple, happy track with good sound, made for the masses, while not sounding like a clone of every other track for a change.

If there's any song Levels has more similarities with, it's probably Pjanoo.
It's most likely also where Avicii got his inspiration from.

Levels is a decent chunk of pop dance, damn better than a lot of the e dominating the charts at the moment. The only real problem with it is just how brutally overplayed it is. It sounds absolutely nothing like that Moonman remix, but you can name a billion and one similar tracks in this big-room style. I always had a soft spot for this one:

This. Seems like everything he does comes off as really flat and emotionless, even though it's designed to get masses of people moving. I wouldn't even call it decent, Levels sucks bad, on many different levels.

You have absolutely right! It does affect the masses unfortunately. It does what it is intented to do.

As normal for these big room tunes is that they usually is overcompressed.
