I have a P4 2000a which is overclocked to 2333Mhz using huge heat-sinks and fans damn thing still not fast enough:crazy:
I'm always broke cuz of this darn PCs. This is my 4th PC in 3 yrs! |

heheh...ya been busy reinstalling all the software :p
hmm, was having *heaps* of trouble with my old computer after putting an athlon xp into the old motherboard...couldn't get an uptime of > 1day :(
well...new one's going perfect so far...one crash, but that was 'cos of my crappy power supply...took out a fan & no trouble since
can't wait for tomorrow/today...been too long since a good lan session for me :):):)

Good to hear the system is working now Mikey. Hey just when i was feeling all happy with my pc i read the reviews on the Hoontech 24/96 Value and i'm feeling pretty sad now. This soundcard can do 24 bit,96 Khz audio and it's noise ratio is staggeringly low. In other words it sounds beautiful. If only i could did up a few hundred bucks for it :(

Yeah the P4 Marchitecture (pun intended) is actually begining to shine now. AMD already have a great FPU, now they just need to increase the pipelines on the Athlon XP and bring it up to speed. Thats essentially what the Hammer is going to do but with the added benefit of on die memory controller which is going to allow the hammer to have VERY low memory latency which is good. It's also going to be 64bit capable which should be impressive but able to run at 32bit in full speed compared to Intels Itanium which is 64 bit but can run 32bit in very slow emulation mode which isn't good for us gamers at all.
should be interesting to see what happens. but AMD need to pull some moves and fast to keep their customers loyal and happy |

No, I have the beta release - installed it's about 2.7gb!!! How good is this game? I've got a GF2-Ti on a XP1600 o/c 2200 so I can't play it at very high resolutions, but it stills looks incredible. I mean, ffs, you can play in natural environments - how cool is that!!! And when you use that scoped weapon the effects look as though they've come straight out of a movie. My mate has an GF4-4600 and it still runs a little slow in places! |

| So who else here has spent a whole day of their life unlocking their XP processor? It was an absolute beeeeaaaaaaatttcchhh, that's all I can say about it. But definitely worth it. I only have PC133 ram, so my system died at 147mhz. Now I can keep the ram nice and cool and just up the multiplier. Plus I got a hacked bios which means I can up the voltage too. |
