so ive been a member of this forum for over 10 years now, and i dont really ever post these days. some of you will know me, most of you probably dont.
but i guess i could be considered the 'hard correspondent' around here. for those who dont know, i am generally a hardcore head, none of that cheesy nu-skool gabba stuff tho, i like proper hard, dark underground music, for which i run an online radio station called HardSoundRadio. weve been around for about 5 years now, and slowly slowly getting bigger and bigger with bigger and better names from 'our scene' joining us.
one such name is 'The Relic', from Dark Descent Records in Holland, a label specialising in Dark/doomcore and industrial hardcore. but his styles dont stop there, he also produces under various names to make trance, techno, ambient and all kinds of electronic music.
one of the features he does for me and my station, is a podcast series called BUNKER.C.A.S.T which is a 3 hour journey of underground techno and dark atmospheric music.
im posting this here as i think [speaking from experience from posting my own mixes on here from time to time] that people on this forum ARE interested in what powerful music can do to the senses when done right! and im sure some of you technoheads on here will love this stuff!
check out these first 2 BUNKER.C.A.S.T's from The Relic / Dark Descent records, and see what you think. this is NOT just talentless noise, and over the top "mutha this, muthain hardcore bitches" music, this is intelligent hard music, ranging from around 130 BPM up to about 160BPM ish.

| .....obviously not very far ... :p |

| People probably would be more inclined to listen if there was some way to stream. I'm not going to randomly download 400mb of some stuff I'm probably going to delete within a minute. |

aah nice thanks dude :D .. i wasnt aware it was made available elsewhere for streaming lol... i guess nothing is ever just exclusive to one place anymore.. god bless the internet :p
so, youve been tuning into my radio from time to time yeah? thats great to hear man.. glad you likey like :) the reason i posted this mix here as i kind of figured that it would more likely be appreciated here than anything else i cater for on HSR :)

well seeing as there was hardly any interest in this original post..
i thought id leave this here...
this is another podcast from the same guy 'The Relic', this is a series of podcasts that has been around for about 3 or so years but has only just been given a new home on my station, and focusses on anything and everything, ranging from ambient, deep techno, moody technoid type stuff.. but generally, no script, no genre's .. just anything thought provoking. a journey for the mind, as it were.....
sorry no stream link yet, so you tightarsed bandwidth scrooges will just have to suck it up..
Dark Industry Podcast XXVII - The Relic : The Lost
this is wayyy out of my comfort zone, and something that id never give a chance, but, it IS a wonderful journey of darkness...
let me know what you think |

| Sounds interesting, I will give it a listen. I remember enjoying one of the hard techno / industrial sets you posted about a year ago. |

nothing remotely interesting unless you had a time machine to take me back say 1995 ?
To use intelligence to describe an aesthetic is beyond silly but since you used it , i won't bother to use another term. THere is nothing intelligent about it. Every single production technique you hear is both old and used in a way that does not serve a purpose that isn't superficial.
Not saying it is bad. I just don't really hear anything new or novel. |

dont mince my words, o. i never said anything about this being a brand new concept. and i use the word intelligent with regards to its maturity in contrast to what people would expect when the see the word 'hardcore'. so if you want to over-analyse and throw in big pointless words to make it sound like you know what you are on about , save it for a sasha topic.
djnitride and spacey orange, i think you guys are referring to the original post too. nitride, that 3 hour mix is sort of like what i splay sometimes, but obviously with it being over 3 hours it has time to linger and build up nicely without cutting any corners which is what i like about it, usually in the hardcore circuit most sets are 1 hour long as opposed to say trance where 2 hours is the industry standard, so its harder to feel the journey.
spacey orange, if you are into this sort of thing, i would definitely keep a lookout on this and future podcasts from the relic, theyre all done really well :) |
