| Is there anything flying under the radar going on in Vegas for Memorial Day Weekend? Clearly the big hotels have their lineups of cheesy pop-house acts (and I'm getting dragged to Hakkasan on Saturday for Calvin Harris), but just trying to figure out if anyone has heard of anything cool going on, especially the day parties. It looks like of the bigger hotels, Tao Beach hasn't released its lineup yet (is Tao Beach still open)? Is there anything else? |

Vegas is pure electro pop music these days. Marquee sometimes sneaks a decent name in, but for the most part they still play for the bottle crowd.
My advice is just to forget about listening to good music and go to just have fun.
Hakkasan was a big let down IMO. I went the past weekend for the preview weekend, and the dance floor is tiny, basically the entire club is targeted at bottle service. The drinks were the most expensive I've ever paid for drinks, even more then other Vegas clubs, MIA, and NYC clubs. I think it would have actually been cheaper if I bought a bottle myself rather then vodka redbulls and tonics one by one all night. |

This is great advice. Never go to Vegas hoping to hear forward thinking music.
I'm going for edc and hoping for a few after parties though. Too much to ask? |

I used to go on holiday weekends all the time, however that was when they only brought DJ's for holiday weekends.
Now, there are EDM DJ's every weekends at multiple venues so I dunno why you would want to go on holiday weekends when the rates are higher + the massive crowds. |
