I used to be semi-pro in Source, but that was years ago, now. was a lot of fun, but real life is a biiit more important.

I can juggle both. I've been playing cs for a while now and I'm not even good yet, just average, I wanna get really good. It's such a demanding and smart game.

Eh, I don't know if I'd call it smart. Being good is simply a matter of building up muscle memory, learning all the angles, good reaction time, and a good internet connection. If you have a good internet connection and lots of time, anyone can be good.
I do occasionally miss playing competitively, though. Fun times.

No respawn is the smart part.

Nah. there's smart aspects of cs.
Just last night on competitive, Dust 2.
I was T and it was 1v1. I had the bomb and was at catwalk about to go to A and plant. There was a guy there shooting at me so I ran away as fast as I could...only to wait at the bottom of catwalk for 10 seconds, and slowly walk back to A and plant.
Mother ****** thought I was running to B to plant. HAH! I tricked you.
Also this is a pretty cool 'trick' that's making its rounds around the internet:

Obviously there are smart aspects and obviously the game is more strategically intense that any re-spawning COD , but that doesn't make the game "smart."
The gun-fake thing is a damn old trick, too.
I'm not trying to hate on the game. As I said, I played it competitively for several years. It's a lot of fun, especially after you become an expert and then go on any random pub and destroy the place. I still randomly boot up source when I'm bored and have fun emptying out servers. I'm just saying you don't need to be a genius to be good at it - just have a lot of time and commit yourself.
Sushipunk
A friend of mine used to play CS competitively, with his flat-mates, and they made some pretty good money from it, too :wtf: This was quite a while ago, but they nearly won a brand new Ferrari, lol.

Doesn't that make it better. but unlike MMOs where you just have to play for a certain amount of time and automatically get better in the game by leveling. In CS, the game doesn't make you better....you get better.
I duno, that's why I like FPS and other fast paced games more than slow games like MMOS (but i did like Xcom [which isn't an mmo, just a turn-based game]).
