Waves is having an incredible sale on its Gold bundle for 24 hours only. It's regularly $800, but on sale for $299 through Waves, and even less through authorized resellers. The best price I've found is $212 at Plugin Discounts:

I believe that it ends at 11 pm EDT today. More than 30 Waves plugins for $212 is a steal. |

Waves doesn't require an iLok anymore. You'll get a single license that you can store on your hard drive, a USB stick, or the Waves Cloud. It has a license manager that lets you move the license around (e.g., if you need to replace a hard drive), but you can't copy the license or make a "backup". It's pretty painless, really.
Edit: here, this might help:

would you recommend this to a semi intermediate techno producer whos music is primarily listened to by himself and friends? i mean i can probably make good use out of the h comp and renaissance stuff ..but do know that the plugins in gold are fairly old now, are most of them just filler? or does it all depend on what your needs are. |

For this price, I would recommend it to anyone. Aside from the reverbs, I don't think that the age of these plugins is really an issue. I used to use the RenVerb a lot years ago, but was never a fan of TrueVerb and IR-L is an OK convo reverb. Yeah, there are a few fluff plugins in there (e.g., PAZ, PS22, S1), but the rest are still really useful. There's a good range of compressors, EQs, and limiter in both modern and vintage/color varieties, not to mention a good multi-band comp, delays and other fx (e.g., MondoMod, Doppler, MetaFlanger, and Enigma), most of which are very useable. At $212, this is a total no-brainier.
BTW, only one hour left. |
