With my digital board, computer and mp3s everything sounds so clean now you can hear crickets chirp between beats and I've wondered what effect or effects unit they use on shows like
Vonyc
ASOT &
Club Life
that give a somewhat analog full sound or hmmm you don't get anymore like from a needle on vinyl?
I have sound forge that I use post mix and cd arch to burn with track markers and SF has some effects but they are all reverbs flange etc...
just wondering

in a nutshell, they increase the average rms, making it louder which has a psychoacoustic effect of making it sound better. It isn't warmer. Pretty much the same process used for FM broadcasting. A barrage of MB limiters to stay within regulation while making it as loud as possible.
Working with vinyl , well first, you would need to master for digital format, and well, i would just get the MP3 from beatport. |

cool I guess its slightly overdriven w/o clipping, now that you said it I remember it does sound that way I guess you just have to find the right settings cause it does sound like FM radio
