This Neo Acid thing

Ok, so I've been enjoying this resurgence of acid techno/house/trance/whatever the past couple of years. Apparently they are calling it Neo Acid like it needs a new name be cool or something.

Recently while digging through the large heap of questionably sorted stuff on Beatport for tracks based around the 303 I came across this Japanese producer I've never heard of called Kick.S. He dabbles in the kind of laidback/downtempo acid dub techno/trance kind of stuff which I find highly pleasurable. Similar to Tin Man and Recondite but perhaps somewhat more lush and trancey.

Anyways, he recently posted this live set on youtube which I found pretty ace. I thought I'd share it here for those of you who might enjoy stuff like that

Can we make this a thread about obscure Japanese live acts instead? Because I found this really awesome one a few months ago and even bought his record.

^^ Heh interesting. Kind of enjoyed the 1st one. The 2nd one is not quite my thing though. Not until the 2:45 mark at least

Good find, thanks for sharing.

With the coming of that new Korg gear soon, this scene should pick up some steam.

And it's not on youtube but one of my favorite acid records ever has to be the B side from Frozen Border 07. It's not a banging track or anything but the way that little acid line slowly makes it way through the track and tells a story is just wonderful.
