On Monday May 20th Victoria Day Long Weekend

Electric Island Concert + Picnic - a new summer series taking place on Olympic Island in Toronto showcases both local and international DJs/Artists in an outdoor park setting overlooking Toronto's beautiful waterfront & skyline. The island event was established by three organizers - Platform, which has established itself producing the leading techno and house music events in the Toronto area for the past 6 years, Embrace, which produces hundreds of concerts, tours and festivals across North America each year, and Footwork Nightclub, Toronto's electronic music haven recently ranked #36 nightclub in the world by DJ Magazine.

The three organizations have come together with the goal of creating a sustainable event that looks to become the event to look forward to each summer long weekend in 2013 and years to come. A section of Olympic Island on Centre Island will be transformed into a fully licensed concert area with music from 2:30pm - 10:30pm. Under an illuminated canopy of leaves, this concert area is located next to the best view of the Toronto skyline from anywhere and will offer food, ample washroom facilities, lockers and plenty of outdoor space for concert goers to set up blankets or grab a picnic table in the sun.

Headlining the first event taking place Victoria Day Weekend, Monday May 20th 2013, is SETH TROXLER (Visionquest, Detroit), recently rated the #1 DJ of 2012 by online music portal Resident Advisor. A well curated selection of local artists will complete the music bill including Nitin, My Favorite Robot, Nathan Barato, Nature of Music, Jonathan Rosa and a very special surprise guest to be announced the day of the event. Each custom crafted event lineup in the series plans to have a totally unique selection local and international talent on the bill, different from any of the previous events in the same year.
