I'm probably going down for Tenaglia there on June 8th, then Lee Burridge's ADID party in Brooklyn the day after. Really looking forward to it.

So I finally have some time to post.

Output is a spin off of Cielo, the Manhattan based house music night club powered by Funktion One. Same owners too.

I was in Manhattan before hand, checking out The Junkies at Pacha. Making the trek from Pacha to Output is quite the mission.

I arrived at Output around 1:30 am. Output is in Brooklyn, in what I guess is some sort of warehouse district. You'd never know there was a club inside if you were just walking on the street.

There was a healthy line up outside. The crowd was mature, people weren't dressed up. Saw some shorts, some running shoes. The cool thing about Output is they aren't into image. There's no dress code. There's also no cameras or bottle service either.

Victor Calderone was scheduled to play from 10pm to 4am. The room was packed when I hit the dancefloor. There's an upper floor that looks over the dancefloor. Bathrooms are unisex. The club isn't pretty, it looks like a raw warehouse space.

The DJ booth is slightly elevated and the main floor has the Funktion One soundsystem. I'm not a fan of out of box systems, but this one sounded great. The bass was crisp and beefy, just the way I like it.

Calderone was in full force, dropping some nasty tech. I saw him the week before at Stereo in Montreal and I would say his Brooklyn set was different than Montreal. (He always kills it at Stereo.) He was supposed to play to 4, but ended up playing until 6am! What a beast!

If you ever have the chance to check out one of your fave DJs at Output, I suggest do it. The buzz on this club is North American wide, DJs are drooling at the chance to play and raving hard about it after they play.

Output will soon rank high at end of year DJ lists and you'll see the same devotion that Stereoheads have.

A common element of my favorite clubs.

great review boss!!!
yes i have learned to really love and appricate this club
its something the nyc scene has been missing for a while now
i call it mini stereo lol
i dunno where you seen or heard he was playing till 4?
on sat nights the club usually goes till 5/6
they are starting out kinda slow and i dont think wanna attract too much attention to themselves now, but hopefully as time goes on they will have some more extended dj sets
but overall glad you had a good time! come back soon, tell ya friends
about this place also

how's that? stereo is a very polished looking club that is open far later than output

like WittyHandle said, the raw/warehouse style clubs are my fav!

Stereo used to be way more stripped down. It was only polished after the fire. I'm not saying the decor is the only thing that changed the place, but it was way better before the tidy look imo, and lots of other people felt the same way.

they just opened up their rooftop for summer parties as well

i just got back from there myself. ik didnt go cause of some big dj was in town, i went out cause its a solid club. i seen some tech house and techno dj's they were ok but the crowd was very mature and the sound has def improved since last time, very crisp and my ears are not ringing

I have to say thanks to everyone on here for making me reconsider my plans on going out in NY two weekends ago, Output is a must for everyone to check out.
Special K nailed it when they described it as footwork on steroids.
My original plan was to go there on the Saturday night, but because of family visiting, I didnt become free till 2am which I felt was a little late to make the mission out to Brooklyn. So I ended up deciding to go there the following night for Capriati which ran from 6-1am, weird hours but I had to be somewhere monday morning early so it worked out well for me.
Man was I surprised and happy to hear Danny Teneglia at the decks when I got there at 7pm. In my opinion I'm glad I missed Calderone for this night as I have never seen Teneglia before, and man did he impress me. Danced for hours it seemed till Capriati came on which was 9:30 I believe. Was sad Danny is missing DD for Veld, but this made up for it.
I have not had a proper night like that since James Zeblia played at Moskito.
Hoping to see Danny more this summer, so another road trip to New York is in order.

Again thanks for everyone's advice about New York, really made my trip that much more fantastic.
