Asmr

Anyone have any videos that cause them to have ASMR? Mine started as a kid with the voice of Mister Rogers but didn't return til I was 13 or so when I saw a movie called full body massage with the main character being the guy that starred with Tom Cruise in Cocktail. Ever since then massages give me ASMR (non sexual massages work the best). Here is a couple of examples.

Adjustments as well...

So by watching these you get tingly?:conf:
Paradox Lost
Some people respond quite favorably to these, but I simply can't find myself entering into a relaxed state while being excruciatingly aware of narrator's salivary smacking, no matter how much I want to be persuaded by what she's saying- too much aural definition, dude.

And why do these things seem to be invariably narrated by a young, rather attractive woman spinning role-playing scenarios? Makes me wonder if a lot of people are just using them to feed an ulterior sensual desire.

What you are talking about is those whispering (role playing) ASMR videos.

I can NOT get myself into those either. I think they are simplistic and kinda childish and they do nothing for me. And your right, they are mostly done by young teenagers. They probably work mostly on other young people or possibly perverts.

If you watch the videos I posted you will see they are not whispering naritive but just unorthodox massage videos with real background noises. These are the types of videos that work for me.

Sometimes a good lecture will also give me ASMR but I don't have any examples at the moment. A good trippy movie has done the trick like the first time I saw A Clockwork Orange or Twin Peaks as a teenager. Basicly non sexual massage videos are the bees knees.

I used to get real tingly but all the videos that used to work don't seem to work anymore as I seen the videos more than several times each. I have other examples but I was more curious if anyone else had ASMR experiences through life and if they possibly had some examples of their own experiences. It could even be a art piece. I know there is always a art appreciation thread going around these parts.

Anxieties
Would you say it's similar to the pleasurable scalp tingling sometimes caused by sneezing? But prolonged?

I don't have that to compare to. It is scalp tingling though so I would say it's close but AMSR is external where prolonged sneezing is internal.

Common external triggers:

Exposure to slow, accented, or unique speech patterns

Viewing educational or instructive videos or lectures

Experiencing a high empathetic or sympathetic reaction to an event

Enjoying a piece of art or music

Watching another person complete a task, often in a diligent, attentive manner - examples would be filling out a form, writing a check, going through a purse or bag, inspecting an item closely, etc.

Close, personal attention from another person

Haircuts, or other touch from another on head or back

Scalp porn? Is nothing sacred anymore.
