I vote that since Malia was the first exchange promotor, she be the ONLY one allowed to post Exchange events.

i say first come first serve. the person who posts first is the one interested in putting up information about their event.

i say we add a new mod. don't get rid of Bas (happy bday btw), but just add a new mod.

LOL!!! thanks Mikey Boy!! I'm biassed though (SPUNDAE 4 LIFE!!!)

I always thought Woody would make a great mod. As long as he quits posting about Daft Punk and PvD. Dave T would make a good one too.

clearly it should be bigperf ... a mod should only be interested in facts!

Quoted for davet since he states i dont contribuete anything positive on ta(which many of the members including him who have benefited from my help can easily dispute)

And no biases...insomniac,spundae,giant,eventvibe, disco donnie, the tao group, wynn, whomever you all step it up or get shut down!

As for the post by robert stern:
For the record I AM FAIRLY CERTAIN(will not 100% call it a fact) malia WAS NOT the first exchange promoter to start posting on ta...im 99% certain she was not affiliated with exchange until a few months(at least) after it had opened....
Unfortunately since this is NOT an exchange la thread that she created the likelihood of her coming in here to confirm or deny is minimal. This is a FACT.

Unless of course one of the people who posted here goes and informs her of what was posted at which point she may or may not decide to come in here and comfirm or deny being first person to start posting exchage la threads on ta.

What if a random person posts an event they are interested in going to. Like Armin Van Buuren....then the actually promoter can't post their own?

What if the promoter doesn't like they way the subject line was written....then what?

then the Mod can merge or edit the post. a lot of times, people do post random event posts, and we end up providing them the link to the event thread anyways.
MelBeat
I do a few of these random posts. If I see a promoter post the event later, I just remove my post. If my post had replies, I copy them to the promoter thread. I guess a thread merge will do the same.

Also, I had requests via PM to change the subject on posts or to not post certain events at all. I honored them all.

I would like to add MelBeat to the list of potential Mods

well if you know the event has a regular promoter who is actually active on TA, then you should try not to post the event, unless it's getting reasonably close to the date of the event.

i.e., Liquified actually peruses TA, and they are the main promoter for a lot of Atlanta's events, so we have an understanding, that he gets a reasonable amount of time to post his event threads. if say the event has been known about for a while and is now only a couple of weeks away, then it's just common courtesy to help the promoter out because for whatever reason, they dropped the ball.
