| i was all ready to come in here and say fabfilter twin 2 cause it's the only synth I have that lets you modulate trigger phase of the lfos, but jesus christ this thing sounds bad. And the filter routing is stupid, and there aren't enough waveforms to do anything interesting. There's a lot they got right though but yeah useless. I can think of half a dozen free ones that do more and sound better |

Speaking of Rob Papen, Blue is still one of my favorite synths ever even though nobody mentions it anymore. I think it's always been an under-appreciated synth. According to Rob, Blue 2 is in development, but no idea when it will be released. |
Blue 2 was released last year and is a worthy successor to the original. Blue, and now Blue 2, are probably my favorite-est soft synths ever (maybe tied with Alchemy). Seems like nobody outside of KVR even mentions it. |

probably Synth1. If im stuck for a sound and cant get it from any of my other synths, ill usually find something in Synth1, quite brilliant.
TAL Noisemaker also - beautiful filter, very distinctive |

I love Synth1. You can get a lot of mileage out of that one.
I'm also gonna add Kaivo alongside Aalto, both pretty special imo but probably not for those that aren't sonically adventurous. |

This !!! - and with Geff (tehlord), Michael (Anakratis) and Jarl (eyearl) soundbanks you can't go wrong lol - it is mostly what I'm using for all of my tracks ;)

I think you might be mistaking Synth1 for Sylenth1. Both very different :). Synth1 is technically a Nord lead clone, doesn't really sound like one though but patches are interchangable. |

| Absynth is underrated these days, its still an absolute monster for pads and soundscapes that doesn't get enough love. I feel like more synths should have a similar envelope system. |
