It's great to see these bands from the 80's still making this kind of music these days. Depeche Mode (the Gods of synthpop) just released a new album, although not the same style as their earlier days, its filled with electronics and still worth a listen.
I was a huge synthpop fan back in the 80s and 90s, but after 2000 haven't really kept up with the scene...other than some of the older well established bands. A relatively new band I came across recently is Hurts. They are more on the darker melodic style of synthpop but that's what I like. It's great to see synthpop alive and kicking even though you might have to look underground to discover the new bands. |
