| Check the for sale forum. You can always buy packaged deals for dirt cheap, but you get what you pay for . . . . .just a warning. |

First decide what the maximum is that you are willing to spend. Then, ring up DMC lighting and sound, Lightsounds and One Stop Deejay and ask them what they can give you for that price. It sounds like all you need is two direct drive decks and a two channel mixer.
As Busy Child said, you get what you pay for. My advice is not to get anything average cos you'll end up replacing them pretty soon. Have a look on the classefieds at 3Dworld's online mag. There are often people selling their equipment on their, so you might be able to get a 2nd hand pair of technics. I've seen them go pretty cheap there, but i guess it depends on how much mulla you got to spend.
Just don't tell them you want a beginner set, cos they'll rip you off with crap, i've seen it before. People who have been sold dodgy ADJ belts being told that they are perfect for starting out.
I would suggest the Stanton decks, but ring the stores above, and remember to offer cash and see if they lower the price at all. |
