| the funniest thing i've noticed is that what is considered house, or electro house or progressive sounds like hard style from 2006. I mean i just don't get how you could call any of this house, let alone progressive house. Its quite silly. I mean lately, they have been doing all the triplet stuff ad nausea-um just like they did back in the day with hardstyle and its just funny because hardstyle to me at least is at the polar extreme of house in terms of genre. |

| some number 1s in the summer sell less than 500. Beatport has always been so insignificant. I mean it is a joke. It is weird how it seems to get way more attention than it deserves in terms of bookings and what you can charge. |

| Yeah, I noticed this too... that "Cannonball" song by Showtek and Justin Prime, the riff sounds like something out of gabber/hardstyle... and a lot of "trap" uses gabber style riffs as well. |

you think this is bad try going to a hardwell or dmitri vegas set and endure 2 hours straight of NOTHING BUT big buildups (with cheesy acapellas on top) and dinky drops

most of the people who would be into hardstyle in 2006 are into this now anyway. |

Tbh, this made me smile :D
To go back on to the topic, before this it was the "piano" style that was popular, especially once Levels got released, now there are tracks like Epic and Atom, which honestly do sound good, but it's just "meh" when you hear 20 same songs one after another.
What I kinda have a problem with are the songs with "Hardstyle-ish" kick in it. I mean, hardstyle kick was meant to be used in Hardstyle (don't think that I am against new stuff) because it fitted there because of all the processing. Putting it into a slower song just doesn't sound right to me. I feel like it separates the lead sound from the rest of the track. Aaaaand there are waaaay too many examples. Not going to post links, people might get offended. |

no issue with people liking it. Just find it rather interesting how it managed to be labelled house. |
