I have actually tried their Pale Ale and Lager a few times and really liked them. I didn't even know it was Gluten-Free. :o |

That's it. And reading up about it, I see a lot of people slamming the notion that gluten is bad for you. Firstly, I wonder why. But secondly, the fact is that it is not bad for everyone. If you're thin and healthy then I really don't think there's any reason to even think of cutting it. In my case, I was gaining weight, feeling like . There were actually times where I'd eat a large amount of bread or, pizza, for example, late at night, and wake up seven hours later with severe hunger pangs. It was simply impossible that I was genuinely hungry as I ate a lot of food just before going to bed and it hardly even had time to digest. Now I know that it was because of what I ate. And it's a big ing problem, because, what are you supposed to do when you are literally full, but feel incredibly hungry at the same time?
Needless to say, I lost about 30 pounds in the last 2.5 months or so, and I intend to keep going. I don't have science to back me up bu I feel better, that's all I can really say. I'm also trying to avoid heavy starch-based foods like rice and potatoes since they tend to make me pretty tired. |
I think part of it is that, aside from potatoes, we didn't really eat a lot of starchy as staples growing up. Most people I know LOVE pasta and , but I can take it or leave it - we just didn't have it often. My dad always bought fresh stuff for dinner, just about every night, and made fresh lunches for us every day. So it's something that I learned from a young age that doesn't really require much thought/effort.
That said, I don't purposely exclude it from my diet either. For example, I won't turn my nose up if I'm at a restaurant and can't have a strict gluten free meal. I'd say my diet is about 90% gluten free.
It's all about moderation. I couldn't ever NOT have, say, a hamburger with a proper starchy bun, lol. Or enjoy a pizza night...or even a hot dog! There is just some stuff one has to allow themselves to enjoy - as long as you aren't overdoing it. |

| Hot dogs are like the worst food imaginable. Full of salt, nitrates, carbs in the bun, etc. disgusting. |

Gluten free master race here too. After changing I dramatically reduced the number of farts produced, had better digestion and yeah felt better generally. Also I realised half of my "pot belly" was due to bloating from eating food with gluten in it. It grows to twice its size now if I eat a piece of bread.
I don't really notice too much nowadays, it is pretty easy to find alternatives to everything and I don't really miss bread. I do have beer occasionally, I like it too much to give up! |

Known a person with a severe gluten allergy and its nasty, also quite expensive if you're getting 100% gluten-free bread, cakes etc.
As far as a diet component goes, pasta of some form or another forms a small amount of a few meals a week combined with other things. Bread not so much, get raisin toast for the kids because they like it for breakfast and there's usually a wholegrain/multigrain loaf with a high fibre content for sandwiches.
Heavily refined white bread, rolls and buns tend to lacking in most everything, given the time I've actually bothered to make my own bread every now and then, it smells and tastes wonderful! |
