| how bout we just make some sort of matrix containing every gear available on the x-direction, every property available on the y-direction and then multiple subjective ratings (some sort of poll) on the respective property of the respective item on the z-direction. and in the last columns we have sum ratings, price, and rating pr price-unit which will eventually allow us to find out which gear is really the best (it need many properties, and good ratings on all the properties + a good price to win). then we would never have to discuss anything again, but instead update the matrix with new gear and more ratings. |

sylenth1 and massive are fairly straightforward so I like those the most. FM8/sytrus is still a pain in the ass for me to fully understand so I just stick to presets->tweaking usually.
Zeta 1/2 I use sometimes but its very cpu heavy and ugly to use overall.
Nexus is good if you can find the exact sound your looking for and dont need to tweak it anymore except for the filter.
But I'd really lvoe to get my hands on trilian/onmisphere, I've only heard good things about them |

| OP's question seems legit. Not sure why everyone is hating so hard. :conf: |

You can be always a pirate... if you don't want/don't have money to buy them... :D
Trust me .. the Omnisphere is...aweomse.. trilian and omnipshere are mostly the same...
Take a look at omnisphere :
I don't really use all of those , there are tons of presets.. you can use them and add effects (a lot of them) or/and tweak a lot of things. And the v1.5 has an orb effect ... which is.. wow..

wanted to do that but just never had time. But like an actual well built system were people can rate, report compatability and all that stuff would be handy, I mean it exists maybe not as one thing but it would be handy but it would not work on sites like this. KVR, maybe. You have to count on people nto being retards and following the proper format because who wants to police that.
and massive, i mean i find it straightforward but there are way more things you can do than most synths but people use presets and don't use them. It is actually a great synth. The only thing it is missing are user defined envelopes like with Zebra or Omnisphere, a few additions like why limit the cross modulations to just 1 oscillator, a more modular routing although it ain't bad and get rid of the limitations on were you can place the fx processors in the chain.
I think Zebra is probably the most versatile of all the synths. Absynth could be great too but again like massive, they just have these limitations that are not needed. |
