Like this? I use windows movie maker, I did use a friends adobe premiere at one point to do animated sequences. Honestly you can do some intricate with windows movie maker if you have creativity. Anyway, its simple and fast to export. You can have a track on youtube within 3minutes.
Youtube is awesome, it gave me a 10hour per video limit. Unlimited. soundcloud, mixcloud etc. |

Windows Movie maker is a great free way of doing movies for simple renders and a "basic" video up.
If you want more customization and abilities, Adobe Premiere is top for me. I use it near exclusively. It is pricey but worth every cent.
I see Sony Vegas is mentioned. imho, I think SV to be the "second" best editor out there. It is solid non the less.
Both software have true 1080 HD rendering, can edit and render to blu ray and both have free full working trials.
* note- both have somewhat of a learning curve if you are new into video editing. Premiere probably has the steepest.
Another option would be Camtasia which also offers a free trial and is probably the closest to a learning capacity as Windows Movie Maker |

I haven't used this, but LightWorks Free looks pretty impressive.

The Pro version is only $60, but probably not necessary for your needs. |
