Using Sound Forge 5

hey cheggy |
Is there any way to make sound forge record what is being played on your computer. Rather than recording what is coming in your sound card, can it record, for example, an mp3 that you are playing in winamp, cos i have a track that i've made, but i want a recording of it at a faster pitch, which i can do using tactile or the likes. Some of the sounds in my track aren't beatmapped which is why i can't do it through the sequencer.
Cheers, cheggy. |

yes it can:)
what i do is just change the record channel in the windows volume control..erm...you understand?:D
i made some screenshots so i hope you know what i mean...its in win 98..but you can select what your pc will record..sound forge follows that (well it does at my pc:))
to record mp3's or something...turn it on to 'wave' (it says 'golf' on
my image..but my windows is dutch:p) but keep in mind it will record everything..also windows sounds or ping/pong sounds from mirc/msn etc... there might be other ways i dont know..but this one worls for me:)
good luck!

this opens the volume panel

go to options, select record control, and select the chan you want to record:)
