Bus send delays

Hey..
Has anyone ever encountered the issue where you send stuff to a bus in logic e.g drums and they end up all delayed.
It has been happening more and more and at the start of the track when I initally start It doesnt happen then all of a sudden It will be delayed only by a very tiny fraction but it doesnt sound as tight...

| could you elaborate. The way you describe the issue seems like the way you would want it to be which is not the case. |

it's caused by latency in one of the effects you have on the bus.
try rendering. the rendering algorithms usually are tighter and arent really prone to this problem, as playback is. |

| logic has plugin latency compensation. |

| i think i might know what this is, i had issues similar with the way I was sidechaining things... i'd just route the kick to a send at 0.0 and select that bus as the input in the compressor.. after a while logic just started to fall apart with this method, different results with dif i/o buffer settings. I don't know if that's what your problem is but yeah thats all i got |

So whats happening is:
I wanted to limit my percs so I sent my claps, my kick, my snare, my hats etc (these are all on different channels) to one AUX channel and put some waves comp and L3 limiter.
it made the percs sound nice and all of that BUT a few days into the project I noticed some timing things when I was playing the percs and the metronome.
so I took off the Limiter and compressor. it was still there.
I took off all those sends and just left each channel how they were with there output being Stereo 1-2 and it fixed eveyrthing up.
I thought it might have been my comp or something but maybe its a bug in logic because other projects I have done with the same setup dont usually have this problem (except It has happened once before). |

What do you mean by rendering it? bouncing it to audio ? |

That's how I understand it. But yeah, if it's not a plugin causing the delay I don't know that this would help. It might be interesting to see if the delay is still there after bouncing down to audio, but it still doesn't solve the problem - you want it to sound right while you're working on it! |

There's a couple of things it could be.
The first is that certain plugins induce latency which is exacerbated when routed to an Aux. Certain waves plugs are guilty of this.
Do you have plugin delay compensation setup in Logic?
Read here for how to do it:
http://documentation.apple.com/en/l...=3%26tasks=true
One way to troubleshoot is to remove each plugin one by one and see if one in particular is the culprit.
You're also going to want to check if you latency compensation is set to ALL rather than TRACKS & INSTRUMENTS.
Let me know if this helps otherwise I'll try to think of something else. |

| sounds like a bug of some sort - thats a good suggestion to try other plugins on the AUX tracks and see if the issue happens with them also |

| Thanks all for your responses. I will have to check the latency compensation and see what I come back with. hope thats it because I like sending things to busses haha! |
