Well people who support "the man" and who would go to the establishments and big events are also to blame in IMO.
Having said that, there is a big world out there and a number of quality options outside the so-called big boys. |

Like what? Even incognito I haven't seen event postings for,
Book hardwell, avicii, Calvin Harris, shm, kaskade etc and offer up comp lists. That would be an awesome option. Comp > $50 tickets. |

The few people that are controlling it.
Insomniac, Ultra, AMOnly etc etc.
EVERYTHING goes to ing when a monopoly takes over. When you have big business taking over and the smaller ones sucking their dick.
It's starting to happen in the techno/tech house scene because its getting popular and that equals $$$. Which equals a marketing strategy a exclusivity contract a label contract etc etc.
If you guys don't realize this, you are either blind/naive or haven't been in the scene enough.
Take me back to anything before 2010 please, when EDM was TRUE EDM. Now it's just catchy to brainwash the masses and make them spend $$$$ |
I think it's great that these companies are coming in and further professionalizing this industry. Good music is still there, you just won't find it at these events that cater to the masses.
I think it's about perception. Yes, Avicii is crossover pop music EDM, but it is great that he brings in a whole new crowd with new listeners of EDM. As this new pop edm crowd matures, some will move to 'real' edm......hence a new market opportunity for you 'real' edm folks.
This is my mba talking. lol. |

What you guys need to understand is that it BENIFITS me that the monster grows. I have a lot of "big" friends that are benefiting from this. They are under AMOnly they have contracts with Insomniac/TAO Group/AMG/Live Nation etc etc. I have worked for them, and/or still do work for them. They have flown me out to their gigs.
So it would be to my benifit that the monster grows.
But you know what? I can give a . If it all crashed down tomorrow, yeah it would suck for my friends. But I would kinda be glad it's over. |
