scratched records.. solution?

cleaning it isnt helping..
is there anything that can be done to fix it?

| buy another one......don't think repairing scratched records are like CDs......but some needles play over the scartches good |

| hold down the cart while playing the record backward through the scratch. It'll fix most scratches. |

you could try the "burn thru" method
put the needle a little before the scratched area...then with one hand spin the record as fast as you can right thru...you can also go backwards as well
this will heat up your needle and can fix some damage...hence the name "burn thru"
be careful as it can cause some wear on both the record and your carts....as always...sometimes the better route is to just buy a new vinyl
think of it this way.
$40 for a replacement stylus
or
$10 for a new vinyl |

| yeah, don't hold it down so hard that you scrape your record or that you bend your needle. But the backward burn through works for me. |
