I just produced a trance song but it's over 9 minutes (9:13) to be exact, I want to submit the track to a label but I wanted to get opinions on if a 9 minute track is too long to submit.
Thanks

In my opinion it depends on the song itself. If the "journey" has enough points to keep one interested. The length of the song is not the issue, it has to have enough body to keep one listening. I have heard 2 minute pieces that were just plain garbage.
A good example I would use is Strobe from Deadmau5 which is 10 minutes long. It has enough content that develops and keep the listener interested. |

i wouldn't bother sending it but not because of the length. |

it would help if it has a cool name. |

The song being 9 minutes isn't your problem. |

my most "successful" release was 13mins. by successfull i mean that someone bought it and some other used it in a mixtape, unlike all my other releases. |

How much of that 9 minutes consists of drum intro/outro? |

I would have to look at the exact time on the track because I'm not for sure really but I think I have a minute each for the intro and outro. |

I agree...this is crucial. The listener will drop the song if it drags. The intro should begin its next phase around the 50 second mark |
