FML Nord Lead 4
http://www.nordkeyboards.com/main.a...lpm=Nord_Lead_4
It's like they completely forgot about the Nord Lead 3 and just made improvements to the Nord Lead 2X.
Key features the Nord Lead 4 is missing:
*Dedicated Sync/FM for each OSC (NL3 has this)
*Endless encoders (NL3 has this)
*A ing medium res LCD screen. It's 2013 and I like naming my patches. (NL3 has this)
*A third OSC or at least a dedicated sub and noise OSC. It's ing the fourth version and they're asking $2,300 USD for it.
On the plus side, at least they added variable unison (NL3 has this but the NL2X does not). And I like the wavetables and that they aren't over complicated with being able to define your own. Some hate that, but I like the limited scope.
What else do you hate about life? |

| Endless encoders would be great. |

| NL4 doesnt seem very special imo. just a 2x with some efex and wavetables. a NL3X i dont see the point, but dont you remember the endless rotaries containing biohazard materials? get rid of it. |

I suspect that technology has reached a point where endless rotaries don't actually need to be dangerous.
I'm just waiting for the 4 to be readily available in stores over here so that ebay is flooded with cheap 2X's
Win for me. |

The Moog Little Phatty has the exact same endless encoders with 360 degree LEDs. If they can do it, so can Clavia. |

Yeah, it does seem like they improved the synth engine. I'm not positive, though. |

What I don't get is the 50-60% price hike from 2x to 4
Sure there are some new features, but in the face of more competition these days it seems weird for the UK price to jump from £925 to close to £1600.
Weird marketing decision as it brings it close to the Prophet 12 and Virus Ti2. Both far more glamorous and capable machines I feel. |
