| I think it's best to wait for the lineup first. It seems like throwing big festivals at USA is the next BIG thing and people are cashing in. |

| NYC is so overdue for an "underground" type festival like they have in Europe. I'm just wishful thinking it'll be one of these.....but yea, not holding my breath. |

@ andrew:
I meant did you do any of EDC NY 2013, not Tomorrowworld, this being the EDC thread, but it wasn't really very clear, sorry.
oz, agreed, esp. with this two festi overlap, no knowing what direction they'll take this Mysteryland in.
But I'd be up for a camp-out festival like this, because really, all the mega-festi's of this sort seem to be city events (all EDCs, Zoo, and so on)
OTOH, late May weather in the Catskills???? |

| Oh and Mysteryland is not putting 10mil in production, the wsj says it will cost $10mil to produce, which means the total price tag of the festival is $10mil. That is a quarter of what EDC costs. |

Interesting excerpt:
"Mysteryland isn’t focused on what most Americans know as EDM – the energetic, crossover genre favored at Electric Daisy events that Mr. Stutterheim says amounts to “a modern version of pop music.” Instead, Mysteryland showcases some 20 different styles of electronic music, like trance and house, many of which emerged as a backlash against pop music, he said.
A good part of the budget for Mysteryland will also be spent on theater, movies, interactive installation art, street performers and “bizarre” stage decoration, he said, as opposed to celebrity-DJ salaries." |

^^^so whats his explanation for this years line-up? its almost the same dj's or same pop type djs as edc
they are doing an article in the wsj...how can they be "underground"
they make no sense lol
yea they will showcase 20 dif styles of music, but the most popular dj's in that genre.
not saying this event wont be great, we dont know yet..
i just dont think their comments and their line-up this year arent making much sense |

or just boycott anything USA and visit the real roots in EU, pay less, have more fun, and be that exotic "yankee" from the USA
and then there's also the festivals just live in ibiza mentality |
