about two years ago on a layover in san diego i had a few hours to kill so i started exploring an area with some antique shops looking for rusty gold when i came across a little store with weathered wood, door handles, architectural elements and the like.

i didn't see anything that struck my fancy, but as i was leaving, noticed a shield on the wall. i'm not sure what it was (perhaps the colors reminded me of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Spain, McDonalds), but i had to have it. about $100 later, i'm out of the door lugging this thing back to the airport and since, then its sat in some dark corner of my bunker, collecting dust. not sure what the hell i'm going to do with it. i have no idea where it came from. its aluminum. i guess i can always sell it for scrap, go to a renaissance fair or use it during the zombie apocalypse. :(

no thanks. its almost 10 pounds of aluminum and i'm sure i could get more selling it for scrap. maybe i'll just carry it around my truck. i may never use it, but then again it may be handy for something like fending off beggars and Jehovah's Witnesses.

The scratches on your shield are clearly from jousting.

This means it has been used in combat. It seems like a good shield, despite the aluminium part being questionable (aluminium is light, which is good for maneuvering, though quite soft, as far as metals go).

If I could give any advice, regarding the shield, it would be to disregard anything I've said in this post. You don't seem like the kind of person that would be into jousting. I'm not, either.

I'm telling you... you're dreamin'.
