I was wondering how you make your closed hats. The only way I know how
to do it is to sidechain a hat pattern 16th notes C, D, E
so it looks like this
Up, Up, Down Down ( Looks like a triangle)
sometimes it sounds good. Alot of the time it seems to fit better with
housey trance
Is there a better way to do it?
Thanks for the help |

Depends on the song I make. Sometimes I'll duck them with a kick sidechain, other times I'll draw in complex hat patterns and in the odd occasion I'll even tap in patterns using a drum pad. |

Well what about just basic 16th's?
What do I need to do to make them sound good. Humanize them? Delay?
Thanks |

More importantly find a hihat sound that fits in with the other instruments in your mix |

i've almost stopped using closed hihats at all lately.. just noticed that the other day, it wasn't even a conscious decision |

i open hihat library from my drum machine and press insert then put it between every kick. |
