I bought Sylenth about a month ago and I love it. I use it for
everything. It's the only synth I use now, not sure if thats a bad thing
or not but
You know how theres the left and right volume meter next to the main
volume slider? Should I worry about anything if it hits the red? I
know its not a mixer channel..
and
Why is it if the drive knob is halfway its louder than all the way up?
No matter if its low, band, or high pass....Is it because the resonance is strongest halfway with the drive knob? |

only matters if your master channel in your daw is clipping,
cant answer the last question. |

It's the first time i'm looking this up, since I use the drive knob purely because I know how it sounds. I still don't know what the warm drive thing does besides changing harmonics.
There should be more info here:
So apparently drive is the signal going through the filter, which is routed back to the filter again causing saturation. It makes sense that it's louder now. |

probably best not to have meter going into the red, the plugin might be clipping then and affecting the sound
i dont use sylenth so no idea about the drive feature |

It's not clipping, I just checked, only when your DAW meters are in the red, the sound will be clipping. |

Sylenth can clip internally, but he seems to have put some sort of soft clipper on the output as it never sounds THAT bad.
I wouldn't want to do it in Massive though (for example). |

Hey thanks for the replies everyone. Actually no soft clipper. Maybe compressor and low pass filtered quite alot. No right now it doesn't sound bad but the track is so raw right now maybe I will notice more once I start opening the filter, adjust levels ect. |
