im tired of shaving my head with an old fashioned pair of clippers. now that i want to shave my head more than once a week, it's becoming a pain in the ass.

does anyone have any good recommendations for an electric shaver that works fast and can do the job?

there's so many out there. i want the good stuff.

Best bang for the buck. I have one like this, but in black. Clean it after every use and it'll last forever.

Funny, I just opened this thread after having freshly shaved my head only a few minutes ago. I know you're looking for electric razors, but this is something I've been using in place of both a traditional and electric razor for months, and it's served me incredibly well:

HeadBlade

Toy-ish as it may look, it's actually a very purposeful and functional design, with the wheels allowing you to plant and gently roll the device across your head in a way that conforms to its natural shape. Runs about $15 for the standard model, which includes three blades, though I recommend a four-blade (possibly five, depending upon your hair's texture). I wouldn't recommend ditching the electric razor entirely, though, as I prefer to buzz my hair down as much as possible before taking a blade to it- smoother, neater process.

This is me just a few minutes following a three-blade shave. Took no longer than five minutes:

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that I really wish I still had hair.

Lulz, I feel ya. Zero you can do about it though, unless you're really vain and do the drug things.

I do my head once a week with a razor. I'd like it to be quicker and easier, but is this "cartoon-looking" thing really going to be any better?

Edit: Lulz.

It's certainly been better for me. I used to apply traditional razor to my head when I wanted to shave it, and you know how it is: you just awkward scrape in multiple directions until it's simply all gone. But with this other razor, I just roll it across my head, and it cuts cleanly, completely, and evenly section by section. It's actually quite amazing. The only thing I don't like is that the blades seem to wear down fairly quickly, so the third and fourth sessions with the same razor are considerably less efficient than the first two (at least on a three-blade). And I still use a regular razor when I want to put on some finishing touches. Give it a try.

As for hairlessness in general, I concluded a long time ago that I'd much rather be 'bald' than 'balding.' The former is actually a thing- and one you can rock- but the latter just seems like passively resigning yourself to follicle-fate (at least for me).

I have a Philips since many years.

Maybe this helps:

When it comes to using an electric razor on my head, I've been using this piece by Phillips for about four years now (and the exact same one), and it's nothing short of awesome:

It is by far the easiest self-hair cutting device I've ever used, and even easier if you're shaving your own head: just remove the attachments and use the bare clippers. If you just want to get down to a nice and even stubble, then this is ideal, and I use it if I'm either in a hurry or don't feel like sporting scalp. This model is discontinued by now, but the replacement is just as intuitive:

Interesting, I might check it out. Though, I have to say... after 8-ish years of shaving my head with a razor, I've got a pretty sweet technique down at this point. 20 mins, I can do both my face and my head, no cuts.

And it will only get quicker as I lose more hair :stongue:

What about these? I'd think they would be good for shaving your head, no?
