"Awakening" [progressive house mix - Dave Seaman/Renaissance style]

This mix was inspired by modern tracks that seemed to fit the style of the old Renaissance CDs from around the turn of the millennium. Prog house with a sophisticated but groovy, clubby feel. Whether you'll agree or not I don't know, but hopefully it is enjoyable either way.

01. Greg Benz feat. Scotty A - The Deep End
02. Sasha, Donatello Knox, Kastis Torrau & Arnas D - Smoke Cone
03. Quivver - Here's This
04. Tom Middleton - GODA CEE YUU (Dub Mix)
05. 16 Bit Lolitas - Na Na Nahana
06. Nat Monday & Jay Welsh - Waiting (Facundo Mohrr & Sound Process Remix)
07. MSZ - Vapour
08. Reii - Where Am I (Relaunch Remix)
09. Shpongle - How The Jellyfish Jumped Up The Mountain
10. Matt Lange - Bad Year Blimp
11. York feat. Tanja Vesterdahl - If Only (Vintage & Morelli Remix)
12. Union Jack - 2 Full Moons & A Trout (Terra Ferma Remix)
13. POB - Cloud (Airwave Remix)

I can't wait to give this a listen...track list looks dynamite. Good to see someone else listening to the new Sphongle.

I'll give this a go.

I thought it was a decent mix. It really opened my mind to contemporary progressive house.

Positive karma to you both.

I'm listening to Shpongle & co more than anything else these days. The new album is great, not quite as magical as previous work... I like tracks 1,4 and 7 but as usual the rest is slowly creeping into my subconscious the more I listen.

Any other takers?

This mix was pretty good in that it really did capture a proper club mix that has diversity. Normally I wouldn't listen to most of the tracks used but they just make sense in a mix. It was mixed and programmed well and the only track that felt to halt the mix was that 16 Bit Lolitas track, otherwise I flowed nicely with out any stalls.

Waiting felt like the turning point of the mix and is probably my favorite part of the mix. Everything after 'Waiting' flowed really well and had some of the best transitions, notably the one from Vapour to Where Am I? Loved who you brought the bassline in...good phrasing. The other really nice transition was the two Platipus tracks, liked you slide that Airwave remix of Cloud right in.

Nice stuff, would like to hear more from you.

By the way, I still have your Mindwaves mix. Do you still have that huge mix of trance classics?

Downloading. Will try to leave feedback.

This was really good, man. One of the more enjoyable progressive house mixes I've heard. Good transitions, good programming, great tracks. Would love to hear more sets like this :)

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad it came across as I was intending. I realised the 16BL track was a little different, and the breakdown is longer than I'd normally like, but I'd been listening to Sasha's remix of 'Dorset Perception' off of Invo1ver and I thought it had a similar feel. Sometimes I quite like to hear a duff track in a set, as it makes you more appreciative if/when things step up again.

Glad you liked the Mindwaves mix, I'm just a couple of tracks away from making a Mindwaves 2.

I removed the History of Trance mix from Soundcloud, but a kind soul on the Matt Hardwick forum has put it on Dropbox:
