Hi TranceAddicts.
Let's compile a list of Trance Masterpieces that are 10:00 or longer. All subgenres of course, but only individual works.
Let the DJs rest for a moment. Think beyond the mixes. They've been instrumental in crafting the genre, or the beginnings of the genre, into what we know it as today. But no, you don't need to choose the red pill or the blue pill.
We're digital now, and the constraints of the vinyl and CD mediums have past.
The future of trance may very well be in more involved, individual, longer pieces.
Please, also share your thoughts on this.

i don't think that strict 'trance' lends itself to ten minutes and longer very well. i mean, if it doesn't have at least a progressive edge, it's going to drag on and be repetitive.
no doubt there are exceptions. |

Thanks for your thoughts rubcez.
Well there are many sub-genres of Trance. Just to name a few: Acid Trance, Ambient Trance, Dream Trance, Goa Trance, Balearic Trance, Tech Trance, Vocal Trance.
Trance is very inclusive, and the multitude of sub-genres allow for an array of continual progressive works.
Repetition can be quite creative. |
