Junitoshi - Shinin' Star
Junitoshi unveils his most ambitious release yet. "Shinin' Star" fashions a somewhat melancholy, analogue house groove with a liberal dusting of arps. "No Sonic Limits" remix splices house keys with breakbeats and an academic delivering a lecture about the brain. "CJ Art's Shamanic Mix" is raw, old-school, cowbell-laced house with acidic bass and spacey swells, and it stops short of out-and-out pastiche.
Shinin' Star music feels so uniquely fresh that it might as well had been recorded only yesterday, third-eye convergence of several swirling loops and oscillations.
