The real reason behind all the flaming on these forums.

OK.. I've given this like 5 minutes of thought(which is a lot by my standards) before posting, so here goes.
I think the main reason why all the flaming(ginos, trance vs. progressive, armada vs swamper) is happening here now, is because a lot of became really spoiled.
, every single week there is big event happening. I remember times not that long ago, when there was only one good event per month or even less. Back then we used to come to a party and enjoy it.. We didn't compare it to other parties, we just enjoyed it as is.
Now all we do is say - "Ah.. They sucked. The other party was better.. crowd is etc etc etc".
C'mon guys. Come to parties less often, you'll start appreciating it more. |

you are very right in what you are saying but I think it is also due not to just TA's but, do to the fact that the whole electronic music world is spliting up into groups now.
Jungle is strictly jungle scene and same goes for Techno scene. Same with progressive and trance (although the last 2 are a lot more interelated).
Earlier wheneverythin started out it was more unified now it's becoming more and more split up. |

the flaming is simple, we are on the internet, we can say what we want, we can bitch and whine as much as we want, and we do it anonymously.
for instance would you go up to an international dj after his set and say "sorry i hated your set, you played pure cheese"
would you walk up to a huge group of ginos with a bunch of fit chicks and start making fun of their style?
no, we can only do this because it is the internet. |

| Now I am all caught up. I am sad to say though that my and my boyfriend's (Gamma) missfortune at VIVA was also used in the arguements. I didn't mean to throw more fuel to the fire. |

The arguments lately have occured because of conflicting opinions. Not because of the internet, or because we're spoiled.
Would going to less parties really lead to this board getting more passive?
Do people not speak their mind in the everyday world (outside of their computer)?
There is nothing wrong with arguments, in fact they run the world. However they should be carried in a constructive manner by which progress has been made in the end. And that at least both conflicting sides managed to see the other viewpoint at least by the most marginally small percentage.
PVD really is a couple steps ahead of us, 'the politics of dance'. (ok that was cheese) :gsmile: |

I would in both cases...
and no it's not really anonymous, people have seen my pics, most people on the TA have met me and know who I am. So how is this anonymous? |

Wow..another thread based on the fighting in the forums...
id say durafrei..sorry dude..u just got sidetracked with ur analysis..but atleast u tried..props dawg..lol
as for flec....man...ur a kid with a 30 y/o brain....smart dude...
about 90 percent of what flec said is true....
none of us have the guts to actually go up and tell people right to their face but on the internet we type what we want and know that nothing is gonna happen to us physically at least...
if u are one of those argueing in these forums and u disagree with that notion, then for sure the reason is that u have too much of stress and this stress makes u feel like u have the world on ur shoulders...ive been there i know....just try to control yourself and let the freedom of speech which u have be available to others too...
it is not compulsary to post in each and every thread, so if u find a thread which u dont really agree with, u dont have to bash the poster, instead just let him/her be.
PLUR - this has no significance if we have so much anger.....soon we will see online anger management sessions for the TAs in canada
geeez....
thank ur lucky stars that there IS freedom of speech on TA, cos ive been to other forums and in all of them, there is a terms and conditions page and if we all were on those terms and conditions, we wouldve been booted a long time ago...
ude but dont abuse this freedom
peace out |
