you were given number grades in elementary school? Letters are more emotionally satisfying than numbers. |

Totally fell for the title, nice work :p
Ours were graded differently over here too. In high school it was:
VHA = Very High Achievement
HA = High Achievement
SA = Satisfactory Achievement
LA = Low Achievement (fail)
VLA = Very Low Achievement (fail)
In Uni it was graded on a scale of 1 through 7 (7 being the best grade, and 3/2/1 being a failing mark). |

| I just rape the ones that fail with a pencil in the ear. |

In America letters are generally used up until college.
A, B, C, D, F |

| The letter 'F' is more powerful than an 'E'. 'F' obviously stands for Fail or Failure, which is what one has done if they have received an F on something. |

| So a "D" is a passing grade? |

| Lews |
| Technically, yes, but it's certainly not one to be happy about. |

Yup, pretty much. 10 was awesome, 9 was okay, 8 was disgraceful, and anything lower than that would bring about serious consequences at home.
So, yeah, there was nothing satisfying about numbers :p |

That's same in Uni here, actually, except the word "achievement" is nowhere to be found in the translation. That's a shame, it sounds better the Aussie way :( |
