Whoa Quite a mint night last night got a phone call at 8 and got told we were on the guestlist, got to Brum about 10 o clock, after the guestlist que we were in and had been over a good year since I'd last been at Code, John '00' Fleming was playing he was a lot deeper prog then the normal Prog trance he starts with, so we hanged up on the second floor chatting and looking down at the dancefloor, then Fleming played some remix of Narcotic Thrust - Keep me safe from harm, and started notching it up in typical fleming style it got a bit harder and a bit trancier with his remix of Cafe Del Mar.
Then next Mistress Barbera, I knew to expect techno but what style? would she be spinning normal European Techno? Italian Techno? Tech Trance? Tech House? Well she was playing tech house tunes but with a nice hard edge to start with onto good old normal Techno dropping Umek - Gatex, also a load of tunes I've heard Luke Slater spin before, I was quite impressed.
Fergie what can I say? ING BOLLOCKS! not as good as he has been on previous ocassions, played about 5 good tunes out of 20 records, the other 15 were boring Tech House tunes, I actually nearly fell to sleep during Fergie that was how bored I was.
Then Ferry Corsten. Easily the best DJ of the night dropping Signum Cura Me, Plastic Boy - Sliverbath, Gouryella Ligaya, plus loads more brilliant uplifting trance tunes, very good stuff the crowd were loving every minute of it, and I noticed is it be or is Ferry growing some dodgy barnet at the moment I thought my hair was bad, either way wicked stuff he ended with System F feat Armin Van Buuren - Exhale which was wicked.
We hanged about and some mates of a mates cars in the carpark everyone was so monged it was untrue and some bird behind aproaches me and asks me 'Do you want any K you know the nasty drug people injected horses with?' hahaha I thought to myself she was a great saleswoman saying stuff like that, Got back to Northampton at 7 am. managed to get home to get some sleep and so on.
Best Points of night - Ferrys set, and plenty of funny little moments.
Worst point of the night - having a cold, Fergies set.
Weirdest part of the night - My mate John Gurned so much his ing lips all around were bleeding and had mad a massive very noticable ring of blood around his gob it looked like he was a Vampire!
Music - 7
Crowd - 9
Atmosphere - 8

| I didn't find out untill like 8 pm. Like if I knew I was going in the first place it would of been all cool and I could of rang people, but after getting a phone call friday afternoon saying we couldn't get on the guestlist as my mate who has to phone for it went missing then phones in the evening saying he has got us on the guestlist. I like to know a day in advance if I'm going out to clubs if u know what I mean gives me time to plan stuff. |
