iDJ is back and we need your help!

Hi guys, I hope you don't mind me posting but I wasn't sure which section to use.
I'm Nikki, and I'm a dance music producer, music journo and I'm heading up the brand new team that hopes to bring back International DJ (iDJ) as a digi mag with a new iDJ advisor platform. We want to bring you the best new dance music and sickest places to party, and we need your help!
We are a group of former iDJ readers who have a mutual passion for all things relating to dance music and we think you will agree that there is a hole in our lives where iDJ once stood.
As well as missing the once great magazine, we also believe that there is nothing currently on the market that fills that gap or that enables the community to do what it does best - spreading the love by recommending and rating all the great clubbing experiences they have, so we've created the iDJ Advisor app! Putting the clubbing experience in your hands.

Not to be a downer but this will never succeed in today's market - with so much EDM-related digital media available for free there is zero incentive to pay for content. |

Thanks for your reply!
The exact structure is still under debate at the minute, but we want to make sure we are in line with other publications in relation to the magazine side of things. Essentially we want to find a structure that works for everyone, so that (amongst other things) we can continue to support and promote new talent, and help people to make sure they have a great clubbing experience every time. Obviously there are overheads to delivering those things, so we would need to ensure they are covered, but we really do believe that (with a lot of hard work) we will be able to make this work.
Of course the key thing is that we need the support of the dance community, so that's why we're trying every avenue we can think of to get the word out there and get talking to as many people as possible. The scope will be international (as we are International DJ after all) so we want to cover all great clubbing and festival experiences, wherever they are in the world.
I see you're based in Canada. Are you a regular clubber or festival goer? I'd be really interested to hear your experience of the trance scene over there!

| Very interesting. I still have my idj magazines which i subscribed from 2003 until 2005. It's still fun to read them and quality wise they vere at the top. Everything was great including the Raw talen pages, technique pages and the Bill Brewster's How to Trainspot stories. |

Thanks for your response! It's great to hear your feedback. Part of the reason I am so excited about this project is because I love so much of the old magazine, and having talked to a lot of people in the industry they agree that nothing else really fills the gap. I really want to ensure that we keep the same editorial policy of providing honest, well-written, non-sensationalist content.
I'm an avid supporter of new music and underground talent and, like you, I absolutely loved the Raw Talent section of the old mag. I also particularly liked the gear section....I blame that for a lot of my studio purchases, but that's another story ;-).....
I need to get the word out there about the campaign and get as much support as possible to make this a reality, so anything you can do to spread the word and encourage pledges would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if I've offended you. I just have the opinion that no matter how much you think you know about something, there's always something new to learn. Hence my innocent question to Swamper.
Yes, I am new to these forums, but by no means am I here to solely promote whatever is going on with me. I am genuinely interested in what people have to say on here. I've been into dance music (yes, all dance music) for a very, very long time but it is only now that I might have the opportunity to be able to help those with great music who are still under the radar. That's why I'm here.

Like, that Swamper owns this board, and speaks from a wealth of personal experience?
You're 1/4 of the way into your campaign and have raised 1.6% of your desired total. At this point, I'd start to weigh effort relative to returns. |

No, I am interested in what people on the scene have to say, regardless of who or where they are, and whether they're a DJ, clubber, whatever. It all adds to the bigger picture.
