slightly OT thought: That anonymous aspect of the internet is rapidly shrinking with social networks getting you to use your real name.

Agreed. Also makes it all the more difficult to get real reviews of parties since social media pr peeps sanitize their pages.
There are fewer posts here these days... most just come for the event listings. |

It's kind of sad that the traffic has dropped. I think a lot of people have just stopped clubbing and moved on. I now go out maybe 1-2 times a year, if that. I do miss it though. I think that will be my New Year resolution...party more, visit TA more, and up my post count :)
It would be nice to see a Roll Call thread with 50+ people again |

Lots of people lurk now.
I try to hit up smaller venues for more of a intimate experience. Not so much the Guv anymore... |

the board has basically died - I"m on Tribe and have been for lot longer than I've been on this board and traffic on all message boards is nearly gone -
it's a massive shame because I like message boards more than other social media outlets...oh well |

Almost every forum I've ever joined has pretty much fallen off the radar since Facebook, Twitter and the likes. It's a shame, I don't like using my real name for everything, anonimity on the internet is like a fairy tale from 10 years ago. |

Thankfully I have transitioned a lot of the friends I have made from TOTA into real life or other networks but ya, that it is so quiet here these days is sad.
One of the other issues I saw developing over the years was people moved to other genres of music and weren't liking where trance was going musically as a genre. That's all fine and good but then they felt the need to tell everyone here how awesome the scene used to be and how the music is crap now, that it's too commercial, it's not "real" trance, and those damn kids should get off their lawns. |

Dan !!!!! I just made that post in the TRC forum on facebook to find out if anyone else on the forum, and here you are :)
re: music - I come here mostly for techno and deep house event listenings - not that I hit many of them considering I live in Ottawa, but its a good forum to keep tabs on whats going on in the scene in toronto (I lived there for 10 years and used to dj for Pure Phunk and a couple of gigs out of Activate)...
times change I guess |
