Hey guys, I'm curious to know your thoughts on Drumcode, Adam Beyer's label. I find their stable of artists have a really defined sound.. sort of booming techno with big swishy ride hats and little melody
Does anyone get into this sound or is it just mainly 'dj tool' fodder? I'm inclined to think the latter..
Here's an example:

| I like Drumcode, but I love CLR. |

They have a good release every once in a while but for the most part they've just been really bland in the last couple of years. I don't even like most this stuff as DJ fodder, I don't find these overdone pulsing bigroom basslines very fun to dance to.
I like techno with interesting patterns and these type of tracks just are really static and hit you with a constant wall of noise. |

| Many better/more interesting techno labels out there. Most of the Drumcode stuff is more like big room tech house anyway. Some exceptions here and there but for the most part the label's output is very forgettable. |

They are definitely at the forefront of big room techno. They are the dutch epic trance to berghains/ostgut ton's superstition records in a manner of speaking. That being said this track always delivers on the dancefloor:

I like this one. It's pretty much just a Good Life version/remix but very well done for maximum fistpump action. I've heard the Devilfish one a few time on the floor but never this one for some reason. Maybe it's too bigroom. |

I think that's a pretty good way of putting it, it's kinda like muzza techno (if you guys have that reference - in Australia it basically describes roided up shirtless wogs)
I don't feel like they have a filter though; their releases come thick and fast and 90% of the time sound so similar, yet they seem to be quite popular (especially on beatport) |

| So it's basically the new schranz? |

It's just fodder. They're tracks that no one is going to play 6-9 months after release. And that might be generous.
This, on the other hand...
Still one of their best remixes imo. |
