| For dance music, hire a taxi and have them drive 30-40 minutes to Playa Del Carmen. Tons of great clubs there. Since this is where the BPM festival is every year, there is a consistent amount of headliners that come through all year long there. Check the Blue Parrot out (my personal favorite) |

| thanks guys... We are staying at the hard rock and will be leaving the place for PDC... i just hope there are some good headliners there the week im there. |

| Cancun is more for the average tourist. Playa del Carmen is where the adventurer goes. |

| cancun used to bring in legit names like 4-5yrs ago. i remember going there in 08 and seeing a couple billboards for big djs. dont know what its like now. but its hard to have a bad time in cancun regardless. |

| someone was telling me that the cartels have really infiltrated Cancun. If you stay at your resort, you're fine. Wandering around the city (especially downtown), it may get a little tricky. so be safe! |

Billy don't be such a . You will be fine. Cartel are under orders not to mess with Americans. We are the people they make all there money from.
As far as clubs in Playa there is Coco Maya, La Santenera, Blue Parrot and Canibal Royale.

| I've heard stories that it's has gotten worse. It may be an order from the big wigs not to mess with tourists but the younger guys who don't listen are what concern me. |

If you can get out of your plans in Cancun I highly suggest you move your plans to Isla Mujeres! Its a tiny 4 mile island off the coast of Cancun. You have to take a fairy to get there and it's a hidden gem! Ton's cheaper, everyone drives around on golf carts and mopeds. It's proper relaxation and very private! At the very least take a day trip or spend a couple of days over there.
And if you do go make sure you hit up happy hour at the Soggy Peso! |
