I can't personally take credit for this one (thanks goes to Jason at the Yahoo Electribe User group for this one - and trust me, that's a scary BBS type place) but I present:
I've created a set of samples ready to load into a ES-1. The samples are of every button that were available on the machines with there setting set to 12 o'clock. The samples are in order of drum machine and by the order on the original machine. I.E. Bass,Snare,Low Tom,Hi Tom,etc. Enjoy!
Drum machines in order:
Roland TR-808
Roland TR-909
Roland CR-78
Linn LM-1
Oberheim DMX

It's in ES1 file format so unless you want 32khz Sample rate files (don't ask) and jump through all those hoops, this is going to be somwhat useless if you don't own a Tribe. |

worth asking though
The ES-1 is limited to 32khz sample rate, pro as . I still can't believe the price-tag Korg got away with when those things came out, (I think $649?)
Still fun though, and this is a really cool thing to do, I just have a personal vendetta against the electribes having owned all of them and now realizing how completely retarded that decision was, especially the EA-1. ing thing is useless |

The thing is, when they were first launched there was not much on the market doing what they did and hardware was generally more expensive. The 32khz rate? I have no ing idea why they didn't do 44.1khz. I think it must have been a cost cutting thing to get them to some kind of semi sellable price.
I got mine for £50 off a mate and it's been great value. One thing I will say for it is that even thought he sample rate is and doing anything advanced becomes a ballache, just getting a groove going on it is better, than any other way I've tried, bar none. |

I really want an EMX-1
Those things just sound fantastic.
It's like Richard Butler in a box. |
