To our dismay & bitter disappointment, we have been forced to close our doors immediately & adhere to a legal order to vacate the premises after our final appeal to the courts to keep negotiations alive was denied.
After 12 successful, memorable & pioneering years, there is nothing else to convey at this bitter sweet moment but our Everlasting Love & Gratitude to the Ownership Team, Sullivan Room & Sullivan Hall Management & Staff, DJ's, Artists, Promoters, Partners, Club Patrons & our DIE HARD SULLY FAMILY regulars who have time & time again crossed through our doors and shown their love & support for an underground club experience second to none.
As we literally pack up our mental & physical memories of the last 12 years over the next 12 hours prior to our departure, we will be sending out in the coming days an official, proper & well deserved family "Thank You" to honor the myriad of talented people who helped make this history a success.
In the meantime, please accept our deepest & gracious thanks for all that you have been to the Sullivan Room family, and all that you have provided to the history that is and always will be "The Basement".
On behalf of management, staff, please accept our Love & Thanks!

I didn't realize that the Sully closing was due to some asshat landlord. That's ed.
I wonder if they'll try to open a new spot? |

Doubt it...didn't have to do with the revenue. Sullivan Room always had a full schedule.
I will spill some red bull vodka this weekend in honor of Sully. So many good memories there.. glad my last memory of the place will be Push the Night with Guy J. Proper end to a proper club. |

| i remember when marco v no showed on us at arc, after joshya ryan tore it up a bunch of us stumbled over to sully to see james holden, this was back in 2003, vibe was amazing, rip |

When I went for Menno the sound was fantastic!!! But that's the only time I've ever been to Sullivan Room. |

Aye--I went to that on a whim. Little did I know it would be my last Sully experience. |

I am going to miss this place.
I've been to Sully countless of times.
Yes it was a sauna a lot of times, yes the sound wasn't the greatest etc, but it was the vibe and the overall experience that made this place special.
I popped my DJing at a club cherry in this place so it will hold a special place in my <3
Also had the opportunity to shoot various gigs in there.
It's sad. |
