scratching/needle question

I was wondering if/when a dj scratches during his set (not like Dj scribble or anything) like Judge Jules does, a scratch here n there.. If I were to do that should I get scratching needles for that or would it just be fine to use regular? I was wondering If it would be better to get sratching needles, and then just take some weight off the tone arm(by adjusting the weight on the back) to even it out, so I can have the extra weight when i need it because I'm not trying to wear down my vinyl but I'd like to throw some stylish scratches in there, just like Judge jules :gsmile:
kthx in advance
