if anyone is in miami for art basel - go to the guy gerber parties, at LEAST the night party at treehouse.
he just threw a wisdom of the glove party in brooklyn last night and well.. we're still in disbelief from the music. dude is on top of the game right now, that is all there is to say.

esscala merged with massive event. massive has been doing wmc parties for years, it's really them bringing down the fiestas.
anyway - had a buddy catch gerber at spybar this past weekend. same reviews, blown away. tick tock, weekend is coming up :). |

Ok so a little review
Got to delano early 7ish. Crosson was spinning some nice jams perfect for politicking around the pool. Gerber and crosson sent b2b dropped some big tracks but the vibe never really got going thanks to rain off and on. Left early to kick it and head to treehouse
So... Got to treehouse stupid early mao fonnegra was in the front room. 2nd best set of the night. Dropping some real nice slower bpm tracks and picked up a little bit towards the end of his set. Damn shame he has nothing on the net.
Matthew dear!!!!!!!!! Ooo dear. IMHO best set of the night hands down. This guy is a sound expert no joke. All his effects and just the general perfection of every aspect of the noises coming out of the speakers. Dropping what I would call rubbery bouncy type of bass lines and effects with a perfect blend of vocals. Real good track selection. Had people moving on every drop. Nice lower tempo greatness. He's now in my top few djs. Im hooked on his sound. Never really sat down and heard a set, but on my drive home I threw on his boiler room and his performance last night was not a fluke.
Bill Patrick played a nice set he's pretty on every time. Seen him a few weeks ago already so disnt stay much in his rolm
Now on to gerber. Cool guy was chilling mixing with the party folk with his crazy ass shirts and pointy shoes. He sadly had to go after matthew dear and I think maybe gerber was a little tired and party mode. A little slop here and there. He played some bangers got the crowd moving bit I was expecting more or his signature mind sounds. Matthew dear was all over those sounds. I missed the last 45 min of his set but nothing life changing at all. |
